Company History
Maritime Moving and
Storage began operations in Saint John in 1954, under the
guidance of a local businessman. It has always endeavored to
maintain the ethic, hard work and dedication of its business
founder. Shortly after it began operations, Maritime Moving
and Storage became an agent for Allied Van Lines, and over
the intervening years has won many outstanding achievement
awards for exemplary service. It’s consistent performance
and dedication to customer needs is well recognized. With
superior levels of service in a demanding industry, it became known
for high quality and good value.
Always an active part
of the community, Maritime Moving and Storage has shown strong
support for a number of civic organizations including the Board
of Trade and Saint John Rotary Club, as well as industry groups
like the Saint John Transportation Club. It is also a participant
in developmental ventures such as the Youth Apprenticeship
Program in New Brunswick and the Let’s Get Connected
Community Access Centre. In 1996 the company was nominated
for the Saint John Board of Trade outstanding business achievement
award.
Maritime Moving and Storage
is the anchor company for the East Coast Moving Group of Companies which
also includes East Coast Moving and Warehousing in Fredericton and
East Coast Wallace Moving in Moncton. Maritime Moving and Storage has
over 50 employees in Saint John and another 50 in its affiliated companies.
As a member of Allied Van Lines, the company has a network of agents around
the world.
Over its life time, Maritime
Moving and Storage has earned a high level of trust, and has learned the
essence of customer satisfaction. For an individual faced with a move,
the pressures of relocation – getting to know a new boss or a new
company, looking after the needs of the children, finding a new home or
selling an old one – can be enormous. With family and job on the
line, your personal property may not get the attention it needs. At Maritime
Moving and Storage, we recognize this as a massive responsibility. You
can count us.
Wayne Marshall
Raised
and educated in Nova Scotia, Wayne Marshall entered the moving
industry in 1966. He bought his first truck when he was 26,
and has held every position in the business. Success has come
through hard work, his ability to attract and keep the best
people in the industry, and a commitment to quality. In 1995
he was nominated by a senior Canadian bank as entrepreneur
of the year.
Wayne took over management
of Maritime Moving and Storage in 1991, and purchased the business in
1995. He steered the company through the transportation industry’s
deregulation, and found ways to make it work even better. He applied the
sound principles learned through thirty years of service to build a moving
team to deal with the challenges of the nineties and beyond.
Today, under Wayne Marshall’s
command, the company is forging new alliances to make it the most progressive
moving company in the region. It foresees new opportunities and exciting
growth in the next century.
